Spanish independent power producer Ecoener SA (BME:ENER) has signed an agreement with Central American bank BAC and Dutch development bank FMO to obtain a USD-64-million (EUR 60.1m) green loan for a solar photovoltaic project in Guatemala.

The financing will support the 74-MWp Yolanda solar project located in the Escuintla department, Ecoener said on Wednesday.

Yolanda’s production is estimated at around 165 GWh per year. The solar farm will operate under a ten-year power purchase agreement (PPA), Ecoener said.

The Spanish renewables company also has another project, the 75-MWp El Carrizo, set in Escuintla. Both Yolanda and El Carrizo are currently under construction.
