A librarian from Delray Beach, Florida, raised enough money to have more than 30,000 books donated to help create public libraries for students in Kenya, Africa.Isabella Rowan teamed up with Project Humanity and African Library Project to donate the books, and made a three-week mission trip to villages in Kenya where libraries are scarce. While the 33,000 books were shipped from the U.S. to Africa by boat, Rowan traveled between villages by plane, boat or bike to spend time with the students.Rowan says only 2% of public schools in Kenya have libraries in them, and it's a number she hopes to raise through her efforts. She wants to continue bringing books to Kenyan students, and hopes to deliver at least 1,000 to the brand-new Kendu Bay Community Library by summer 2019.Watch the video above to learn more about one librarian's mission to bring the gift of reading to Kenyan school students.
